Koh Lipe…

After spending about a week in Bangkok we have moved to the island of Koh Lipe where I have never seen water and beaches as beautiful as this.  The trek down here was not easy, starting off with the taxi taking us to the wrong airport at 5 a.m., then the 2nd taxi trying to rip us off.  We managed to make the flight and after we landed, it seemed like everyone at the airport tried to rip us off. After going back and forth, we got the price down 90% from the original quote, sheesh.  Then the transportation we hired took us to the “bus station” which was actually a tourist service center that over charges tourist for bus rides.  After figuring that out, we got a taxi to the real bus station to take a two hour ride south on an very hot bus for about $1 USD (got a great photo there). Despite the craziness, it was an awesome time I have to say. We were the very last stop on the route and we were dropped off in the middle of now where.  After locating where we were on a map, we then hopped in the back of the pick up truck to take us to a speed boat to zip us off to the islands.  After about an hour and half ride, we were about 100 yards out from shore where we hopped on a small long tail boat and road it into shore.  About an hour later, we where wondering around and I made this image.  Wow, that made me tired just writing about it.
